Meet the Hín Team
About Hín
From the moment you enter Hín you’ll see, hear and feel the difference. The high-end salon is a minimally appointed, warm space with touches of abstract, custom art presented by Tom Cross. Enjoy the space as you and your stylist work together creating your unique design, or by enhancing your current style. During your experience we have offerings of seltzer water, teas and coffee to keep you feeling pampered. On First Friday’s we keep our doors open to bond with the community and other local business owners while sharing a glass of wine.

Thea Cross
OWNER, STYLIST
Hi, I’m Thea Cross-Stewart, co-owner of Hin Salon and I’m originally from Denver, Colorado. I found my calling as a stylist in an effort to help others, nurture authentic human connections and find my path to create and express my art. While attending Vidal Sassoon, the “Harvard of Hair,” in Santa Monica CA, I was trained by, and went on to assist some of the industries’ most elite instructors. Additionally, I attended the Westmore Academy in LA for Cosmetic Arts. I have been doing hair since 2007 and have worked in high-end salons in Denver, North Carolina, and Colorado Springs.
While working in Denver, I developed and implemented an education program for junior stylists. I pride myself on being a precision haircut stylist and perfecting my scissor over comb technique. I only use shears, which is the Sassoon way. I love doing color, especially my blondes. I have taken multiple color and blonding classes throughout my career, including a Sunlights Balayage class. I am also a DevaCurl specialist. I believe that continued education and surrounding yourself with amazing stylists is the key to a successful career.

Megan Cheyne
OWNER, STYLIST
Hi, I’m Megan Cheyne, co-owner of Hin Salon, and I was born and raised in Colorado Springs. For as long as I can remember I wanted to be a stylist. It started as early as I can remember. Growing up, my dad cut my hair (really), and he inspired me to work with my hands and pursue my lifelong dream. I graduated from The Salon Professional Academy in 2013, and then completed a year-long apprenticeship at a salon here in Colorado Springs. Hair cutting and blonding are my favorite services to offer. I am a Devacurl-certified curl specialist, as well as an R+Co razor cutting specialist.
A career highlight was traveling to Miami, Florida to further my education in razor, and curly cutting and styling. I love the texture that the razor gives, and I love giving women the confidence to wear their natural curl. I specialize in heavy blonding techniques and have attended multiple blonding and balayage classes, including a Sunlights Balayage class. I always strive to be better at my craft through education, and I love exceeding expectations for all of my valued guests.

STYLIST
How long have you been a stylist? I completed a year-long apprenticeship at the end of 2008 after cosmetology school. I truly believe this was the best instruction I’ve ever received and the most inspirational time in my career.
What are your professional certifications? Curls are my jam! I received my first Deva Level 1 certification in 2011. In 2014, I went to the Academy in NYC and received their highest level of hands-on training as a “Deva Architect” Level 3. I have also received others in various color and cutting techniques.
What excites you most about being a stylist? The energy and constant change! I love that it does not ever feel mundane and that we continually get to create and design for each individual. I know my gift in this industry is learning about and understanding each guest so I can help discover a look that they feel confident in and truly themselves always, not just in the couple of days after walking out of the salon
What do you like to do in your free time? I love to dance and teach part time at a local pole dancing studio. I also thrive on wandering outside of the city, getting dirty and soaking up the Colorado sunshine in wide open spaces
What’s your favorite coffee order? A basic cappuccino
